Microcef CV 200 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin in adults, including infections caused by bacteria that have become resistant to standard antibiotics. It contains cefpodoxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, combined with clavulanic acid.
Take it at the start of a meal, as directed by your doctor, to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Complete the full course of treatment even if you begin to feel better, as stopping early can allow the infection to return and increase the risk of antibiotic resistance.
Maintain good hygiene and drink plenty of fluids during treatment to support your recovery. Avoid sharing this medicine with anyone else, even if they have similar symptoms, as this can lead to incorrect dosing.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, or any liver or kidney problems. Stop the medicine and contact your doctor right away if you develop severe diarrhoea, a skin rash, or signs of an allergic reaction. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use.
