Metro-400 Tablet is used to treat certain bacterial and parasitic infections, including infections of the intestine, vagina, dental area, and other sites caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria. It is used for conditions such as amoebiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, dental infections, pelvic infections, and as part of combination therapy for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection.
It contains metronidazole. It works by entering susceptible bacteria and parasites, where it gets converted into active compounds that damage their DNA and stop their growth.
Take the tablet as prescribed by your doctor and complete the full course, even if you feel better. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the last dose, as it may cause unpleasant reactions.
