Metro-400 Tablet is used to treat a range of bacterial and parasitic infections in adults, including infections of the stomach, intestines, skin and reproductive tract caused by susceptible organisms.

Uses of Metro-400 Tablet are:

• Parasitic Infections: Treats infections such as amoebiasis and giardiasis caused by parasites.
• Bacterial Infections: Helps clear bacterial infections of the abdomen, pelvis and skin.
• Vaginal Infections: Treats bacterial vaginosis and related symptoms.
• Surgical Prevention: Used alongside other antibiotics to help prevent infection during surgery.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Metro-400 Tablet contains metronidazole (400 mg) which works on the body in the following ways:

• Penetration into Cells: Metronidazole enters bacterial and protozoal cells where it undergoes a reduction process.
• Toxicity towards Anaerobic Organisms: The reduced form of metronidazole forms unstable compounds that bind to DNA and inhibit nucleic acid synthesis, causing cell death. This action is selective towards anaerobic bacteria and protozoa because these organisms have the ability to reduce metronidazole inside their cells.

• Store Metro-400 Tablet below 30°C.
• Keep it away from excessive light and moisture.
• Place this medicine out of the reach of children.
• Remember to use it before its expiry date.

• If you have an infection like Giardiasis, take care to drink only boiled or bottled water and ensure your food is well-cooked to avoid reinfection.
• For dental infections, continue practising good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing regularly. This can help manage the condition effectively while taking Metro-400 Tablet.
