Metro-400 Tablet is used to treat bacterial and parasitic infections.

Uses include:

• Parasitic Infections: Treats amoebiasis, giardiasis, and trichomoniasis.
• Bacterial Infections: Manages bacterial vaginosis, dental infections, pelvic infections, and infections caused by anaerobic bacteria.
• H. pylori Infection: Used as part of combination therapy to help treat H. pylori infection associated with peptic ulcers.
• Surgical Infection Prevention: May be used with other antibiotics in selected surgical procedures to prevent infections.

Consider these guidelines while taking Metro-400 Tablet:

• Take the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• This medicine can be taken with or without food.
• Always adhere to the prescribed dose and avoid self-medication.

Metro-400 Tablet is taken orally.

Metro-400 Tablet contains metronidazole (400 mg) which works on the body in the following ways:

• Penetration into Cells: Metronidazole enters bacterial and protozoal cells where it undergoes a reduction process.
• Toxicity towards Anaerobic Organisms: The reduced form of metronidazole forms unstable compounds that bind to DNA and inhibit nucleic acid synthesis, causing cell death. This action is selective towards anaerobic bacteria and protozoa because these organisms have the ability to reduce metronidazole inside their cells.

• Store Metro-400 Tablet below 30°C.
• Keep it away from excessive light and moisture.
• Place this medicine out of the reach of children.
• Remember to use it before its expiry date.

• If you have an infection like Giardiasis, take care to drink only boiled or bottled water and ensure your food is well-cooked to avoid reinfection.
• For dental infections, continue practising good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing regularly. This can help manage the condition effectively while taking Metro-400 Tablet.
