Metharmed Tablet is used to treat and prevent heavy bleeding from the womb, especially after childbirth or a miscarriage. It helps the womb contract, which reduces excessive blood loss and supports recovery.
It is a medicine that acts on the muscle of the womb to make it contract. It is also used in the third stage of labour to help deliver the placenta and to prevent heavy bleeding after birth (postpartum haemorrhage). It is taken exactly as prescribed, under your doctor's guidance.
Around this time, following your doctor's or midwife's advice on rest, fluids, and monitoring for bleeding is important. Report any return of heavy bleeding, large clots, or severe pain promptly.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart or blood vessel problems, or are taking other medicines. It is not suitable during pregnancy before delivery. Report severe headache, chest pain, or a marked rise in blood pressure.
