Maxim Eye Drops are used for the following:

• Managing bacterial conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye.

• Treating bacterial eye infections caused by Staphylococcus species.

• Managing eye infections from Streptococcus species.

• Addressing bacterial eye conditions due to Haemophilus influenzae and H. parainfluenzae.

• Overcoming eye infections from Chlamydia trachomatis.

• Dealing with Corynebacterium species-related eye infections.

• Handling eye conditions caused by Micrococcus luteus and Acinetobacter lwoffii.

Using Maxim Eye Drops is a simple process:

• Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to make a pocket.

• Hold the dropper close to your eye without touching it. Squeeze gently to release one drop into your eye.

• Close your eyes and press the inner corner lightly to keep the solution in place.

• If you are using the drops in both eyes, repeat the process for your other eye.

• Remember to put the cap back on after each use.

• If you are using more than one type of eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes before using the next medication. Always consult your doctor for more specific instructions.

Maxim Eye Drops contain Moxifloxacin (0.5 %), which interacts with the body in the following ways:

• Inhibition of Bacterial DNA Synthesising Enzymes: Moxifloxacin halts the activity of two crucial enzymes – DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV – that bacteria need for DNA replication, repair, transcription and recombination.

• Disruption of Bacterial DNA Processes: By inhibiting these enzymes, moxifloxacin disrupts essential DNA processes within bacterial cells.

• Bactericidal Action: The disruption caused by moxifloxacin leads to the death of susceptible bacteria in a rapid and concentration-dependent manner.

• Store Maxim Eye Drops at a cool room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep away from excessive heat and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Do not freeze.

• Ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use to prevent air exposure.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• If you're using Maxim Eye Drops for managing bacterial conjunctivitis, maintaining proper hygiene is essential. Regularly wash your hands, particularly before touching your eyes and avoid sharing personal items like towels or cosmetics to prevent spreading the infection.

• While dealing with eye infections, try to minimise exposure to potential irritants such as smoke, dust, or wind which can exacerbate your symptoms. Wearing sunglasses outdoors might provide some relief.
