Macbery DX Syrup is a medicine used to relieve dry, tickly, non-productive coughs associated with colds and allergic conditions in children. It also helps ease symptoms like sneezing, a runny nose, and throat irritation.
It contains dextromethorphan and chlorpheniramine maleate. Dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex, while chlorpheniramine reduces allergic symptoms. Administer the syrup as prescribed by your doctor using the measuring cup provided, with or without food.
Keeping your child well hydrated with warm fluids and using a humidifier in their bedroom can soothe throat irritation and support recovery from dry coughs. Encourage adequate rest during the illness.
Before giving this syrup, tell your doctor if your child has asthma, breathing difficulties, glaucoma, or urinary retention. As this medicine may cause drowsiness, supervise your child and avoid giving other sedating medications at the same time.
