Lizintas Injection 300ml may interact with other medicines, such as:

• Antihypertensive medicines (e.g., amlodipine, enalapril): Linezolid has mild monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) activity, which can enhance blood pressure changes when used with certain medicines. Blood pressure should be monitored during treatment.
• Antidiabetic medicines (e.g., insulin): Lizintas Injection 300ml may enhance the glucose-lowering effect of these medicines, increasing the risk of hypoglycaemia. Regular blood sugar monitoring is recommended.
• Antitubercular medicines (e.g., rifampicin): These medicines may reduce the effectiveness of linezolid by lowering its blood levels through enzyme induction. Monitoring may be required.
• Antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, sertraline): Concomitant use may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome due to MAOI activity of linezolid, a serious condition characterised by symptoms such as agitation, confusion, sweating, and rapid heart rate. Avoid combination or use only under strict medical supervision.
• Sympathomimetic medicines (e.g., pseudoephedrine, dopamine): Co-administration may lead to excessive increases in blood pressure due to MAOI activity, resulting in hypertensive reactions. Use with caution and monitor blood pressure closely.
• Other serotonergic medicines (e.g., tramadol): Concurrent use may increase the risk of serotonin toxicity due to MAOI activity. Patients should be monitored for neurological and autonomic symptoms.

• Hypertension (high blood pressure): This medicine may cause a rise in blood pressure, especially when combined with certain foods or medicines. If you already have high blood pressure, your doctor may monitor it closely during treatment.
• Diabetes:  This medicine may sometimes lead to low blood sugar levels (hypoglycaemia), especially if you are taking antidiabetic medicines. Watch for symptoms like sweating, shakiness, confusion, or weakness, and monitor your blood sugar regularly.
• Bone marrow suppression or blood disorders: This medicine can affect blood cell counts, including red cells, white cells, and platelets. If you already have a blood-related condition, the risk of anaemia, infections, or bleeding may increase. Regular blood tests may be required.
• Seizure disorders (epilepsy): Use with caution if you have a history of seizures, as this medicine may increase the risk in some individuals. Inform your doctor if you have ever had fits.
• Neuropathy (nerve problems): Long-term use of this medicine may cause or worsen nerve-related symptoms such as tingling, numbness, or burning sensations. Inform your doctor if you already have nerve-related issues.
• Infections not caused by susceptible bacteria: This medicine is not effective against all types of infections, especially Gram-negative infections. Using it in the wrong condition may delay proper treatment and worsen the illness.
