Levotas 500 Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, sinuses, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues, including pneumonia, bronchitis, and complicated urinary tract infections.
It contains levofloxacin and belongs to a group of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. Take it as prescribed, with plenty of water. Complete the full prescribed course, even if you start feeling better, to help prevent the infection from returning and reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance.
Stay well hydrated during treatment and avoid excessive sun exposure, as this medicine can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid taking antacids or supplements containing calcium, iron, or zinc close to your dose, as they can reduce its absorption.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, a history of tendon problems, heart rhythm problems, or epilepsy, or if you are taking other medicines. Contact your doctor if you notice tendon pain or swelling, as this medicine may need to be stopped promptly.
