Lefumide-20 Tablet is used in adults with active rheumatoid or psoriatic arthritis to reduce symptoms, slow joint damage and improve physical function.

Uses of Lefumide-20 Tablet are:

• Rheumatoid Arthritis: Reduces signs and symptoms and helps slow structural joint damage.
• Physical Function: Helps improve day-to-day physical function in people with active rheumatoid arthritis.
• Psoriatic Arthritis: Helps manage symptoms in adults with active psoriatic arthritis.

Follow these instructions while taking Lefumide-20 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, breaking, or chewing the tablet.

• Do not alter the dosage or stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Lefumide-20 Tablet is taken orally.

Lefumide-20 Tablet contains leflunomide (20 mg). The medicine acts on the body through the following mechanisms:

• Pyrimidine Synthesis Inhibition: Leflunomide blocks the formation of pyrimidine, a compound required for the multiplication of rapidly dividing cells. This includes the overactive immune cells that cause inflammation in arthritis.

• Immune System Suppression: By inhibiting pyrimidine synthesis, leflunomide effectively reduces the activity of the immune system. This helps to decrease inflammation and slow the progression of rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis.
