- ACE inhibitors/Angiotensin II receptor antagonists. The concomitant use of ACE inhibitors and/or angiotensin II receptor antagonists with this injection may increase the risk of kidney impairment.
- Antiepileptic medications such as phenytoin and carbamazepine. The concomitant use of this injection and antiepileptic medications may increase the risk of seizures.
- Anticoagulants such as warfarin. The co-administration may cause an enhanced anticoagulant effect.
- Other NSAIDs, such as aspirin. The concomitant use may increase the risk of adverse effects.
- Diuretics such as furosemide. The concomitant use of this injection with diuretics can lead to a reduced diuretic effect.
- Antigout medications such as probenecid. The concomitant use may increase the concentration of this injection in blood.
- Chemotherapy agents such as methotrexate. The concomitant use may enhance the toxicity of methotrexate.
- Psychoactive medications such as fluoxetine, thiothixene, and alprazolam. Hallucinations have been reported when this injection was used in patients taking psychoactive medications.
- Vasoactive agents such as pentoxifylline. When this injection is administered concurrently with pentoxifylline, there is an increased risk of bleeding.
- Nondepolarizing muscle relaxants such as vecuronium. The concomitant use of this injection and nondepolarizing muscle relaxants results in apnea (interrupted breathing while asleep).
- Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as citalopram. There is an increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are combined with this injection.
Drug-Disease Interactions
Ketorol Injection can interact with diseases, including:
- Active or previous peptic ulcer: This injection may also cause peptic ulcers and worsen the condition.
- History of gastrointestinal bleeding: This injection may cause GI bleeding and worsen the condition.
- Ulceration or perforation: This injection may exacerbate the condition.
- Severe heart failure: This injection causes an increased risk of serious heart thrombotic events, including heart attack and stroke, which can be fatal.
- Liver impairment: This injection may cause hepatitis & cholestatic jaundice and worsen the existing liver impairment.
- Kidney failure: This injection is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney impairment.
- History of asthma: This injection is contraindicated in patients with asthma due to the risk of allergic reactions.
- Nasal polyps: This injection is contraindicated in patients with nasal polyps due to the risk of anaphylactic-like reaction (allergic reaction).
- Cerebrovascular bleeding: This injection can stop platelets from working properly, so it should not be used if someone has a suspected or confirmed bleeding problem in their brain.
