Jalra M Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Improving blood sugar control when diet and exercise aren't enough

• Controlling blood sugar when metformin alone is inadequate

• Adding to other diabetes medicines for better control

• Supporting insulin therapy when control remains poor

• Reducing fasting blood glucose levels

• Improving post-meal blood sugar control

• Helping maintain long-term diabetes control

Follow these instructions while taking Jalra M Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take with or just after food to reduce stomach discomfort.

• Follow a consistent schedule at the same times each day.

• Continue your diet and exercise programme while taking this medicine.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your treatment.

Jalra M Tablet is taken orally.

Jalra M Tablet contains two active ingredients that work together to control blood sugar:

• Vildagliptin (50 mg): This component belongs to a class called DPP-4 inhibitors, which prevent the breakdown of incretin hormones in your body. These hormones help your pancreas release insulin when blood sugar levels are high and reduce the amount of sugar produced by your liver when it's not needed.

• Metformin (850 mg): This works by decreasing the amount of glucose your liver produces (a process called gluconeogenesis). It also improves how your body responds to insulin, helping muscle cells use glucose more effectively.

• Store Jalra M Tablet below 25°C in its original packaging.

• Keep the medicine in its blister pack until use to protect it from moisture.

• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Check the expiry date on the package, and do not use it after this date.

• Monitor your carbohydrate intake by choosing complex carbohydrates (whole grains, vegetables) over simple sugars (sweets, fizzy drinks) to help maintain steady blood glucose levels.

• Include regular physical activity in your routine—aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days—to improve your body's insulin sensitivity and help control your blood sugar levels.
