Irovel 150 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of high blood pressure

• Management of essential hypertension

• Prevention of stroke in hypertensive patients

• Reduction of heart attack risk

• Management of diabetic kidney disease

• Slowing the progression of kidney damage in diabetes

• Decreasing protein in urine for diabetic patients

• Protection of kidney function in type 2 diabetes

• Blood pressure control in patients with kidney problems

• Combined therapy with other blood pressure medicines

Follow these instructions while taking Irovel 150 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.

• Never stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Irovel 150 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Irovel 150 Tablet 10 contains irbesartan (150 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Angiotensin II receptor blockade: Irbesartan selectively blocks the AT1 receptors where angiotensin II (a hormone that causes blood vessels to narrow) normally attaches, preventing its blood vessel-constricting effects.

• Vasodilation: By blocking the action of angiotensin II, this medicine helps blood vessels relax and widen, making it easier for blood to flow through them.

• Aldosterone reduction: Irbesartan decreases the production of aldosterone, a hormone that causes the body to retain sodium and water, thereby reducing fluid volume in the bloodstream.

• Blood pressure lowering: Through the combined effects of widened blood vessels and reduced fluid volume, irbesartan effectively lowers blood pressure.

• Kidney protection: In diabetic patients, it reduces protein leakage in the urine (proteinuria) and slows the progression of kidney damage by improving kidney blood flow.

• Store Irovel 150 Tablet 10 at room temperature.

• Protect from elevated temperatures and moisture.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging until you need to take it.

• Store all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Reduce salt intake: Limiting salt (sodium) in your diet helps lower blood pressure. Aim for less than 5g (one teaspoon) of salt per day by avoiding processed foods and not adding salt to meals.

• Maintain a healthy weight: Being overweight increases blood pressure. Regular physical activity (at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days) helps control hypertension.
