Hipres 25 Tablet 14 is used to manage high blood pressure, chest pain (angina) and certain irregular heart rhythms. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing atenolol, and belongs to a class of medicines called beta-blockers.
This medicine works by slowing the heart rate and reducing the force of each heartbeat, which lessens the workload on the heart and helps improve survival after a heart attack. Take this medicine orally with a glass of water, at the same time each day, in the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Tell your doctor about any asthma or breathing problems, a very slow heart rate, or diabetes, and about any other medicines you are taking, before starting this medicine. Get up slowly from sitting or lying down, as this medicine can make you feel light-headed. Report any unusual tiredness, breathing difficulty or very slow heartbeat to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so, as sudden stopping may worsen your heart condition.
