Take it as prescribed, usually with your first main meal of the day. Continue taking it regularly, even if you feel well, as untreated high blood sugar can lead to long-term complications affecting the kidneys, nerves, and eyes.
Alongside this medicine, following a controlled carbohydrate diet, eating meals at regular times, staying physically active, and monitoring your blood sugar levels as advised by your doctor can help improve control. Carry a source of fast-acting sugar with you in case your blood sugar drops too low.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, or if you are taking other medicines. Tell your doctor if you notice symptoms of low blood sugar, such as shakiness, sweating, or confusion. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
