Glate 0.2 MG Injection is used for the following:

• Reduction of salivary, pharyngeal, and tracheobronchial secretions during surgery

• Prevention of intraoperative bradycardia

• Adjunctive treatment for peptic ulcer disease

• Reversal of muscarinic effects during neuromuscular blockade reversal

• Management of excessive drooling (sialorrhea)

• Reduction of gastric acid secretion

• Control of gastrointestinal motility

Glate 0.2 MG Injection should be administered as follows:

• This medicine must only be given by a qualified healthcare professional.

• It can be administered through either intramuscular or intravenous routes.

• For intravenous use, it may be given as a direct push or diluted in compatible solutions.

• The injection site should be cleaned with an antiseptic before administration.

• After administration, the injection site may be gently massaged.

Glate 0.2 MG Injection contains glycopyrrolate (0.2 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Muscarinic receptor antagonism: Glycopyrrolate blocks muscarinic acetylcholine receptors throughout the body, preventing the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from activating these receptors.

• Decreased secretions: By blocking specific receptors, this medicine reduces secretions from salivary, sweat, and bronchial glands, helping manage excessive secretions during surgical procedures.

• Reduced gastric acid production: Glycopyrrolate decreases stomach acid production, which aids in the management of peptic ulcer disease.

• Limited central nervous system effects: Due to its chemical structure, glycopyrrolate has minimal ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, resulting in fewer effects on the brain compared to other similar medicines.
