Gepride M-1 Tablet is primarily used for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is a combination medicine that falls under the category of oral antidiabetic medicines, and helps control high blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient.
Glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, while metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, together giving more complete blood sugar control than either medicine alone.
Take this tablet daily with your first main meal, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and keep to regular mealtimes to reduce the risk of low blood sugar.
Tell your doctor about any kidney, liver or heart problems, and mention if you are due for surgery or contrast imaging. Be alert to symptoms of hypoglycaemia, such as sweating, shakiness or confusion.
