They contain gatifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that stops bacteria from multiplying. Apply the drops into the affected eye as prescribed, usually every few hours at first and then less often, using clean hands and avoiding contact between the dropper tip and the eye.
Avoiding contact lenses until the infection has fully cleared, and not sharing towels or pillowcases, can help prevent the infection from spreading to the other eye or to others.
Tell your doctor if you have any known allergy to fluoroquinolone antibiotics before using this medicine. Report any severe eye pain, worsening redness, or vision changes that persist after applying the drops.
