Gatilox Eye Drops are used to treat "pink eye" (bacterial conjunctivitis) and other external infections of the eye. They quickly reduce the redness, painful grittiness, and sticky discharge associated with bacterial overgrowth. These drops are vital for clearing the infection and preventing it from damaging the surface of the eye or spreading to the other eye.
This medication contains Gatifloxacin, a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by blocking the enzymes that bacteria need to replicate their DNA. This modern antibiotic is highly effective against a wide range of bacteria, including some that have become resistant to older types of eye drops, ensuring a faster and more reliable recovery.
Apply the drops exactly as prescribed, usually every few hours for the first two days and then less frequently. Do not wear contact lenses until the infection is completely cleared. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to your eye or any surface to prevent contamination.
