Fruselac DS Tablet is used to treat oedema (fluid overload) associated with heart, liver or kidney disease, and to manage high blood pressure. It helps remove excess water and salt from the body, reducing swelling in the legs, arms and abdomen and easing strain on the heart.
It combines furosemide, a loop diuretic that promotes rapid fluid loss, with spironolactone, a potassium-sparing diuretic that helps prevent excessive potassium loss. Take it in the morning as prescribed, to avoid sleep disturbance caused by increased urination.
Limiting salt intake and keeping to your doctor's advice on fluid intake can help support fluid control alongside this medicine. Your doctor may advise on suitable potassium intake through your diet.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, or are taking other medicines. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function and blood salt levels periodically. Contact your doctor if you notice muscle cramps, dizziness on standing, or a marked reduction in urine output.
