Flagyl Suspension is an antimicrobial medicine used to treat various infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and specific parasites in the digestive, hepatic, and reproductive systems.
It contains metronidazole, an antibiotic and antiprotozoal agent. It is best taken with or after food as prescribed. Complete the entire course of medicine as advised by your doctor, even if you start feeling better, to ensure the infection is fully cleared.
Maintaining good hydration by drinking plenty of fluids is essential during recovery, especially if diarrhoea or stomach upset occurs. You must strictly avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after your last dose to prevent severe stomach discomfort, nausea, and flushing.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any liver disease, kidney problems, nerve disorders, or blood disorders. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting treatment.
