It is also used for conditions like amoebiasis, giardiasis, and bacterial vaginosis by stopping microbial growth, especially in children or patients who cannot swallow tablets.

Flagyl Suspension works in your body through a specific mechanism:

• Inhibits Nucleic Acid Synthesis: The active ingredient in Flagyl Suspension is Metronidazole which is taken orally. It penetrates bacterial and sensitive protozoal cells and undergoes a chemical reduction process, aided by intracellular electron transport proteins, inside these cells. This reduction process leads to the formation of unstable molecules that bind with DNA, inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis, and ultimately causing cell death.

• Bactericidal Effects: Metronidazole displays concentration-dependent bactericidal effects against anaerobic bacteria in proportion to its concentration within the infected area.
