ELTROXIN 12.5MCG TABLET 120 is used to treat hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid gland) in adults and children, including as a low starting dose for gradual titration, and to help manage goitre.
It contains levothyroxine sodium (12.5 mcg), a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone T4. Take it on an empty stomach in the morning, at least 30 minutes before food, at the same time each day; do not switch brands without your doctor's advice.
Keeping to all blood test appointments to monitor thyroid function, and following any calcium, iron or antacid timing advice from your doctor, support effective treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart disease, diabetes, adrenal gland problems or osteoporosis before starting. Report a fast or irregular heartbeat, unusual chest pain or persistent nervousness. Regular thyroid function tests are required.
