Eltroxin Tablet is used to treat hypothyroidism by replacing thyroid hormones that the body cannot produce in sufficient quantities. The 75mcg dose is an intermediate strength used during treatment initiation, dose adjustment, or when fine-tuning between standard doses.
It contains levothyroxine 75mcg. Take it on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before breakfast at the same time each morning. Separate it from calcium tablets, iron supplements, and antacids by at least 4 hours, as these reduce absorption.
Regular TSH blood tests allow dose adjustment as needed. Most patients experience significant improvement in hypothyroid symptoms within weeks of reaching the correct dose.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart disease, adrenal gland problems, osteoporosis, or diabetes. Tell your doctor promptly about palpitations, insomnia, tremors, or excessive sweating, as these can indicate the dose is too high. Dose requirements often increase during pregnancy.
