Dicorate ER 250 Tablet is used to control seizures in epilepsy. It is a single-ingredient anticonvulsant medicine containing divalproex sodium in an extended-release form.
This medicine is also used to manage manic episodes in bipolar disorder and to prevent migraine in adults. Take it with food and swallow it whole, without crushing or chewing, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can trigger seizures.
Getting enough sleep, following a regular daily routine, managing stress and avoiding alcohol support seizure control alongside this medicine. Attend all check-ups and routine blood tests.
This medicine can seriously harm an unborn baby. Women who can become pregnant must use reliable contraception and should not take it during pregnancy unless there is no alternative; discuss any pregnancy plans with your doctor. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems or a history of pancreatitis, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report unusual bleeding, skin rash or persistent vomiting promptly. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
