Diamox Tablet is used to manage or reduce abnormal fluid and pressure build-up in the eyes, brain, and body. It contains acetazolamide, which reduces the production of certain fluids in the body.
In glaucoma, it lowers the pressure inside the eye to help protect the optic nerve and prevent vision loss. It is also used for fluid retention, raised pressure within the skull, altitude sickness, and as an add-on treatment for certain seizures. It is taken by mouth as prescribed.
Staying well hydrated supports treatment, and your doctor may check your blood salts during treatment.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any kidney, liver, or salt-balance problems and any other medicines you take.
