Dermovent 500 Tablet 10 is used to manage fungal infections of the skin, hair and nails.

Uses of Dermovent 500 Tablet 10 are:

• Scalp and Body Ringworm: Treats tinea capitis and tinea corporis.
• Athlete's Foot and Jock Itch: Treats tinea pedis and tinea cruris.
• Nail Fungus: Treats tinea unguium (onychomycosis).
• Barber's Itch: Treats tinea barbae.

Follow these instructions while taking Dermovent 500 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water and a meal containing a moderate amount of fat to enhance absorption.
• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.
• Do not take more than the suggested dose without consulting your doctor.

Dermovent 500 Tablet 10 contains griseofulvin (500 mg) which acts on the body as follows:

• Disruption of Mitotic Spindle Formation: Griseofulvin works by disrupting the formation of mitotic spindles in fungal cells. These spindles play a significant role in cell division, so their disruption inhibits the growth and spread of fungi.
• Binding with Keratin: Griseofulvin binds with keratin which is a key structural protein in skin, hair, and nails. As old keratin is replaced by new keratin containing griseofulvin, the medicine gradually reaches fungicidal concentrations in the infected tissues over a period of weeks to months. This unique mechanism of action necessitates a long duration of treatment for complete eradication of the fungal infection.
