Metadec 50 Injection is used to manage osteoporosis, a condition in which the bones become thin and weak, particularly in women after menopause. It belongs to a group of medicines called anabolic-androgenic steroids.
It contains nandrolone decanoate. It also helps in the management of wasting conditions, such as those caused by cancer or HIV/AIDS, by stimulating appetite and helping to build lean body mass. It further supports treatment of certain types of anaemia by promoting red blood cell production. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse, with the dose and frequency decided by your doctor based on your condition.
A protein-rich diet, weight-bearing exercise as advised, and adequate calcium and vitamin D intake can help support bone and muscle health alongside this medicine.
Before this injection is given, tell your doctor if you have any history of liver problems, heart disease, prostate or breast cancer, or high blood calcium levels. This medicine requires close medical supervision; report unusual mood changes, swelling, or menstrual irregularities to your doctor.
