Cephaxin 250 Capsule 10 is used to treat a range of bacterial infections in adults and children, including chest, urinary, skin, bone, ear and dental infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Uses of Cephaxin 250 Capsule 10 are:

• Chest Infections: Treats chest infections, including pneumonia.
• Urinary Tract Infections: Treats infections of the urinary tract.
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Treats bacterial infections of the skin and soft tissues.
• Other Infections: Also treats bone and joint infections, middle ear infections (otitis media) and dental infections.

Follow these instructions while taking Cephaxin 250 Capsule 10:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.
• To minimise potential stomach upset, take your medicine with food.
• Do not break, crush or chew the capsule.
• Make sure to complete the full course as prescribed by your doctor even if you feel better before it ends.
• Avoid stopping the medication without consulting your doctor.

Cephaxin 250 Capsule 10 contains cefalexin (250 MG), which acts on your body in the following manner:

• Inhibits Peptidoglycan Synthesis: Cefalexin works by blocking the synthesis of a substance called peptidoglycan, which forms a major part of bacterial cell walls. This effectively halts the construction of these cell walls.
• Induces Bacterial Cell Lysis: By inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis, cefalexin causes the bacterial cells to burst open or 'lyse'. This results in the death of the bacteria, thereby managing the infection.

• Store Cephaxin 250 Capsule 10 at a temperature below 30°C.
