Cedon-200 DT Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, ear, throat, sinuses, and skin. The dispersible tablet (DT) formulation can be dissolved in water before swallowing, making it easier to take for those who have difficulty swallowing whole tablets.
It contains cefpodoxime proxetil 200mg, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by preventing bacteria from forming their protective cell walls. This kills the bacteria and allows the infection to clear. It is effective against a broad range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Dissolve the tablet in a small amount of water as directed and drink immediately. Alternatively, swallow whole with water. Take it with food to reduce stomach upset and complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve before the course is finished.
Rash, nausea, and diarrhoea are the most common effects and usually mild. Tell your doctor about any allergy to penicillin or other cephalosporins before starting, as cross-sensitivity may occur.
