CompositionCdpin 20 Mg Tablet 10 is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing cilnidipine 20mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called calcium channel blockers.
This medicine relaxes and widens the blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and reducing long-term strain on the heart, brain and kidneys. It may cause less ankle swelling than some other medicines in its class. The 20mg strength is usually used when a lower dose has not been enough. Take it once a day after food, at the same time each day, and continue even when you feel well.
Reducing salt, staying physically active, keeping a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support blood pressure control. Avoid grapefruit juice.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, heart failure, very low blood pressure or narrowing of the aortic heart valve, and about other medicines you take, especially other blood pressure medicines and certain antifungals. Do not take it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or sleepiness, so do not drive if affected. Contact your doctor if you feel faint, have a fast heartbeat, or notice troublesome ankle swelling. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
