Carbizole 5 Tablet 100 is used to manage hyperthyroidism, a condition where the thyroid produces excessive hormones. It helps regulate thyroid hormone levels, preparing patients for thyroidectomy or complementing radioactive iodine therapy, either before or after treatment, to normalize thyroid function.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

Carbizole 5 Tablet 100 contains carbimazole (5 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibits Thyroid Hormone Production: Carbimazole is converted to thiamazole (methimazole) in your body, which blocks the formation of thyroid hormones by interfering with key processes in the thyroid gland.

• Prevents Iodide Organification: It stops iodide from being incorporated into tyrosine residues, which is an essential step in forming thyroid hormones.

• Blocks Iodothyronine Coupling: Carbimazole inhibits the coupling of iodotyrosine residues, preventing the final formation of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4.

• Reduces Thyroid Hormone Release: By disrupting these processes, it effectively decreases the amount of thyroid hormones released from an overactive thyroid gland.

• Store Carbizole 5 Tablet 100 at room temperature (below 25°C) in a dry place.
