Broncordil Syrup is used to treat and prevent asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) symptoms, a lung condition in which the flow of air to the lungs is blocked. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, widening them and making breathing easier. It contains theophylline.
It is a bronchodilator medicine. It can be taken with food. Take it at the same time every day, and continue it for as long as your doctor recommends. Do not miss a dose; if you do, take it as soon as you remember. It does not act instantly and does not relieve sudden, severe breathing problems, so keep your rescue inhaler on hand for emergencies.
Avoiding known triggers such as smoke, dust, and strong odours, along with staying up to date with seasonal vaccinations as advised by your doctor, can help support better breathing control alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any heart problems, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, or are taking other medicines. Inform your doctor if you experience palpitations or tremors. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
