Bixibat Tablet 10

Bixibat Tablet 10 may interact with the following medicines:

• Bile acid preparations (e.g., ursodeoxycholic acid, chenodeoxycholic acid): Bixibat Tablet 10 may reduce the absorption and effectiveness of these medicines. Monitoring of treatment response may be required during combined use.
• Aluminium-containing antacids (e.g., sucralfate): These medicines may reduce the effectiveness of Bixibat Tablet 10 by binding bile acids in the intestine. Avoid taking both medicines together unless advised by your doctor.
• Cholestyramine and colestimide: These medicines may reduce the therapeutic effect of Bixibat Tablet 10 by binding bile acids in the gastrointestinal tract. Concurrent use may reduce constipation relief.
• Digoxin and dabigatran etexilate: Bixibat Tablet 10 may increase blood levels of these medicines and may increase the risk of side effects. Monitoring may be required during combined use.
• Midazolam: Bixibat Tablet 10 may reduce the effectiveness of midazolam in some individuals. Monitoring may be advised if both medicines are taken together.

Bixibat Tablet 10 should be used with caution if you have:

• Intestinal obstruction or bowel blockage: This medicine may worsen intestinal obstruction and should not be used in patients with known or suspected bowel blockage. Alternative treatment may be required.
• Severe diarrhoea: Bixibat Tablet 10 may worsen diarrhoea and increase the risk of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance. Dose reduction or discontinuation may be required if severe diarrhoea occurs.
• Liver disease or biliary disorders: Reduced bile acid secretion may decrease the effectiveness of this medicine in relieving constipation. Careful monitoring may be advised during treatment.

The daily dose of Bixibat Tablet 10 should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may vary depending on the severity of constipation and individual response to treatment. Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

Taking more than the prescribed amount of Bixibat Tablet 10 may cause severe diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, stomach discomfort, or dehydration. Seek medical attention if overdose is suspected.

If you miss a dose of Bixibat Tablet 10, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses together to compensate for the missed dose.
