CompositionBispec 5 Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of an overactive bladder in adults, such as a sudden urge to pass urine, passing urine often and leaking urine (urge incontinence). It is a single-ingredient medicine containing solifenacin 5mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called antimuscarinics.
This medicine relaxes the bladder muscle, allowing the bladder to hold more urine and reducing sudden urges and accidents. Take it once a day with water, with or without food, swallowed whole. It may take a few weeks to see the full benefit.
Bladder training, pelvic floor exercises, spreading drinks through the day, and cutting down on caffeine, fizzy drinks and alcohol can improve bladder control.
Do not take this medicine if you have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, cannot empty your bladder, have a severe bowel condition, or have myasthenia gravis. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, a heart rhythm problem, constipation, or difficulty passing urine, and about other medicines you take, especially certain antifungals and antibiotics. It can cause blurred vision and drowsiness, so do not drive if affected, and take care in hot weather as it reduces sweating. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help if you cannot pass urine or have eye pain. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
