Biceltis 440mg Injection is used for the following:

• Treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer

• Management of breast cancer after chemotherapy

• First-line treatment with paclitaxel for breast cancer

• Therapy for HER2-positive stomach cancer

• Treatment of gastric adenocarcinoma

• Management of gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma

• Targeted therapy for tumours overexpressing the HER2 protein

• Slowing down the growth of certain aggressive cancer types

• The injection is administered through an intravenous infusion.

• The powder must be reconstituted with appropriate diluents before administration.

Biceltis 440mg Injection is administered intravenously.

Biceltis 440mg Injection contains trastuzumab (440 mg), which works in the body through several mechanisms:

• Binds to HER2 protein: Trastuzumab attaches specifically to the HER2 protein found on cancer cell surfaces, blocking the growth signals that would normally cause cancer cells to multiply.

• Disrupts signalling pathways: This medicine interrupts the communication pathways inside cancer cells that rely on HER2, preventing the uncontrolled cell division that is characteristic of HER2-positive cancers.

• Recruits the immune system: Trastuzumab activates the immune system by promoting antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), allowing immune cells to recognise and destroy HER2-positive cancer cells.

• Inhibits tumour growth: By interfering with HER2-mediated pathways, the medicine slows down tumour growth and can potentially cause tumours to shrink over time.
