Besvil 200 Octacap is used for the following:

• Long-term management of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

• Reduction of exacerbations, or worsening symptoms, in patients with COPD.

• Management of asthma in patients aged 12 years and older.

• Control and prevention of asthma symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.

• Increase of airflow to the lungs to make breathing easier.

Please note that the Besvil 200 Octacap is not meant for the relief of acute bronchospasms or sudden asthma attacks. For sudden symptoms, a short acting rescue inhaler should be used instead.

You should administer Besvil 200 Octacap as follows:

• Use the inhaler device specifically designed for these capsules.

• Only inhale the contents of the capsule; do not swallow it.

• The capsule should be administered once daily by the orally inhaled route at roughly the same time each day.

• Always rinse your mouth with water without swallowing after each dose to prevent oral thrush.

Besvil 200 Octacap contains two active ingredients:

• Fluticasone Furoate (200 mcg): As a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory activity, it binds to glucocorticoid receptors in your body. This action leads to a reduction in the release of substances that cause inflammation and an increase in substances that counter inflammation. As a result, it reduces inflammation in your airways.

• Vilanterol (25 mcg): Classified as a long-acting beta2 adrenergic agonist (LABA), vilanterol stimulates an enzyme inside cells called adenylyl cyclase. This action increases cyclic3',5'adenosine monophosphate (AMP) levels inside cells. The increased AMP levels relax the muscles around your airways and inhibit the release of substances from cells that cause immediate hypersensitivity reactions. This dual action makes breathing easier by keeping your airways open.

The combination of fluticasone furoate and vilanterol in Besvil 200 Octacap offers additive efficacy, improving lung function and symptom management more than either component alone. The corticosteroid reduces underlying inflammation, while the LABA ensures prolonged airway opening.
