Asthalin Rotacaps are used to relieve breathing difficulty caused by asthma and COPD, and to prevent breathing problems triggered by exercise.

Uses of Asthalin Rotacaps are:

• COPD: Relieves bronchospasm and breathing difficulty caused by blocked airways in COPD.
• Asthma: Eases wheezing and shortness of breath caused by narrowed and inflamed airways.
• Exercise-induced Asthma: Helps prevent breathing difficulty triggered by physical activity when taken beforehand.

To use Asthalin Rotacaps correctly, follow these instructions:

• Open your rotahaler device and place one rotacap into the capsule chamber, with the transparent end facing the mouthpiece.

• Close the rotahaler device and hold it upright. Twist the base to break open the rotacap.

• Breathe out fully before placing the mouthpiece between your teeth, then seal your lips around it.

• Take a deep, steady breath through your mouth until your lungs feel full.

• Hold your breath for a few seconds, then breathe out slowly through your nose.

Asthalin Rotacaps is administered by inhalation.

Asthalin Rotacaps contains salbutamol (0.2 mg), which works in the body in the following ways:

• Activation of Beta2 Receptors: Salbutamol binds to beta2 receptors in the smooth muscles of the airways, leading to activation of an enzyme called adenylate cyclase. This process increases the production of a substance called cyclic AMP (cAMP) in your body.

• Airway Dilation: The increase of cAMP causes relaxation of the smooth muscles in your airways. This results in dilation of the airways, reducing obstruction and making it easier for you to breathe.

• Inhibition of Bronchoconstricting Agents: Additionally, salbutamol inhibits the release of substances that cause airway constriction from cells called mast cells. This further contributes to its bronchodilatory effects, easing your breathing.

• Store Asthalin Rotacaps in a cool, dry place.

• Keep the capsules in their original packaging until it's time for use.

• Avoid exposing the package to direct sunlight or moisture.

• Always keep Asthalin Rotacaps out of reach from children.

• Make sure you use the capsules before their expiry date.

• If you have asthma or COPD, avoid exposure to allergens such as dust, smoke, and pet dander that might trigger symptoms. It may be helpful to maintain a clean and dust-free environment at home.

• Regular physical activity is beneficial for your lungs. However, monitor your breathing during exercise as exertion can sometimes trigger asthma symptoms. If needed, use Asthalin Rotacaps prior to exercise as per your doctor's advice.
