Asthalin Rotacaps are used to relieve sudden breathing difficulty (bronchospasm) caused by asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It can also be used before exercise to prevent exercise-induced asthma.
It contains salbutamol, a short-acting medicine that relaxes the muscles around the airways to quickly ease wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. The rotacap is used with a rotahaler device, which allows the medicine to be inhaled directly into the lungs for fast relief.
Learning the correct inhaler technique from your doctor or pharmacist, avoiding known triggers such as smoke and dust, and keeping your rotahaler clean all help this medicine work well.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart problems, high blood pressure, or thyroid disorders. Contact your doctor if you find you need to use it more often than usual, as this may mean your asthma or COPD is not well controlled.
