CompositionAquazide 25 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to reduce fluid build-up (oedema) caused by heart failure, liver disease or kidney problems. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing hydrochlorothiazide 25mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called thiazide diuretics (water tablets).
This medicine helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, lowering blood pressure and reducing swelling. It can be used alone or with other blood pressure medicines. Take it once a day in the morning, so you do not need to pass urine at night, as prescribed.

Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney or liver disease, no urine output, low potassium or sodium, high blood calcium, or a sulfa medicine allergy. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have gout, diabetes, lupus or a history of skin cancer, and about other medicines you take, especially lithium, digoxin and painkillers. Your doctor will check your blood salts and kidney function. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you have extreme thirst, muscle cramps or weakness, dizziness, sudden eye pain or reduced vision, or a new or changing skin lesion. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
