CompositionAmodep-5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It is a single-ingredient calcium channel blocker containing amlodipine.
It is also used for chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart (angina), including a type called Prinzmetal's or vasospastic angina. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it even when you feel well.
Cut down on salt by limiting pickles, papad and packaged snacks, stay active, and avoid grapefruit juice, which can raise the level of this medicine in the blood.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have severe liver disease, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Rise slowly from sitting or lying down to reduce dizziness, and report marked swelling of the ankles or feet. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
