CompositionAmlovas M 25/2.5mg Tablet PR 10 is used to manage high blood pressure and to help control angina (chest pain) in adults. It is a combination medicine containing amlodipine and metoprolol succinate, and belongs to the class of antihypertensive medicines.
This medicine combines a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels with a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate, together lowering blood pressure and reducing the strain on the heart. Take this tablet at the same time each day, with or without food, in the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active as advised by your doctor, maintaining a healthy weight and limiting alcohol can further support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any asthma or breathing problems, a very slow heart rate, or diabetes, and about any other medicines you are taking, before starting this medicine. This medicine may cause dizziness; avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how it affects you. Report any unusual ankle swelling, tiredness or slow heartbeat to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as this can cause a sharp rise in heart rate or blood pressure; only stop if your doctor advises you to do so.
