It is also used along with other medicines to treat H. pylori infection of the stomach as part of managing peptic ulcer disease.
It contains amoxicillin, which works by preventing bacteria from forming a protective cell wall, eventually destroying them. Swallow the capsule whole with water as prescribed, with or without food.
To ensure the infection does not return in a more resistant form, it is important to finish the entire prescribed course even if your symptoms improve within a few days.
If you have a known allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, tell your doctor immediately, as alternative treatment will be necessary to avoid a severe allergic reaction. Also mention any kidney problems or other medicines you take.
