AD 100 Capsule is used with oral rehydration therapy to treat acute diarrhoea in adults and in children when a doctor has prescribed an age-appropriate formulation and dose.
It contains racecadotril, which reduces excess water and electrolyte secretion into the intestines without slowing normal intestinal movement. It treats the symptom of diarrhoea but does not replace oral rehydration salts or treatment of the underlying cause.
Take it exactly as prescribed and continue oral rehydration solution to replace lost fluids and salts.
Seek medical advice for blood or mucus in the stool, high fever, persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration or diarrhoea lasting more than three days. Do not use it as a substitute for medical assessment in a young child.
