Encicarb Injection is used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia in adults and older children, particularly when iron taken by mouth is not tolerated or not effective, including in people with non-dialysis chronic kidney disease.
It contains an iron preparation. It works by replenishing the body's iron stores, which are needed to make haemoglobin and healthy red blood cells.
It is given by injection or infusion by a healthcare professional, with the dose based on your iron needs.
Tell your doctor about any allergies before use. Your doctor may check your blood phosphate, as this can fall temporarily. Report a rash, swelling or breathing difficulty during or after the injection.
