Clindac A Gel is used to treat acne, including pimples, blackheads and spots. It contains clindamycin, an antibiotic that reduces acne-causing bacteria and inflammation on the skin, helping ease redness, swelling and painful breakouts.
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin exactly as directed by your doctor, and avoid using more than the recommended amount. Continue using it for the full period advised, even after your skin starts to improve, to help prevent new breakouts from forming.
Using a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser and moisturiser, avoiding harsh scrubs or other acne products at the same time, and protecting your skin from strong sun exposure can help support treatment with this gel.
Before using this gel, tell your doctor about any known allergies or skin sensitivities, or if you have a history of bowel conditions such as colitis. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and broken or irritated skin. This medicine should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Topical clindamycin mainly treats inflammatory acne and is commonly paired with benzoyl peroxide to reduce antibiotic resistance; it does not directly clear blackheads or whiteheads.
