CompositionZyrcold Tablet is a combination medicine used to relieve a productive (wet) cough associated with respiratory tract infections. It helps provide relief from chest congestion, frequent coughing, throat irritation and discomfort caused by a build-up of sticky mucus.
It combines ambroxol, a mucolytic agent, with cetirizine, an antihistamine. Together these help thin and loosen mucus in the airways to make it easier to cough out, while cetirizine helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, a runny nose and watery eyes. Take it as prescribed.
Maintaining adequate fluid intake is helpful when treating a productive cough. Drinking plenty of warm liquids such as herbal tea or plain warm water helps loosen airway secretions and calms an irritated throat.
Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart disorders, diabetes, thyroid disease, or liver or kidney impairment. Since this medicine can cause mild drowsiness, avoid activities requiring alertness, such as driving, right after your dose.
