Zybend Chewable Tablet is used in adults and children to treat infections caused by various parasitic worms, and is particularly important in managing neurocysticercosis and hydatid disease caused by tapeworm larvae affecting organs such as the brain, liver and lungs.

Uses of Zybend Chewable Tablet are:

• Worm Infections: Treats infections caused by roundworms, hookworms, pinworms, whipworms and tapeworms.
• Neurocysticercosis: Treats infection of the brain caused by pork tapeworm larvae.
• Hydatid Disease: Treats cysts formed in organs such as the liver and lungs due to dog tapeworm larvae.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• If you have difficulty swallowing it whole, you can crush or chew the tablet before swallowing it with water.
• Always take the medicine in the dosage and frequency prescribed by your doctor.
• Continue taking this medicine for the full duration prescribed by your doctor, even if you start to feel better.

Zybend Chewable Tablet 1 contains albendazole (400 mg) as the active ingredient. It works in the human body in the following manner:

• Albendazole works by blocking a process called tubulin polymerisation in the larval forms of certain parasites. This process is crucial for the formation of cytoplasmic microtubules, which are small structures inside parasites' cells.
• By inhibiting tubulin polymerisation, albendazole impairs glucose uptake in these parasites, depleting their energy stores. Thus, it is difficult for the parasites to survive and grow.

• Store Zybend Chewable Tablet 1 at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.
• Protect it from light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.
• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Ensure you use the tablet before the expiry date mentioned on the product packaging.

• If you have neurocysticercosis, consider eating a diet high in protein. This will support your body's recovery as it fights off the tapeworm infection.
