Zucapride M 500 Tablet Er 10

Zucapride-M 500 Tablet is used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control and reduce cardiovascular risks when single-agent therapy is inadequate.

Uses of Zucapride-M 500 Tablet are:

• Glycemic Control: Helps lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
• Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: Helps reduce the risk of heart failure hospitalisation in diabetic patients with cardiovascular risk factors.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.

• Take this medicine once daily, preferably with your morning meal.

Zucapride-M 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Zucapride-M 500 Tablet consists of the following two components:

• Dapagliflozin (10 mg): As an SGLT2 inhibitor, dapagliflozin reduces the absorption of glucose in your kidneys and lowers the renal threshold for glucose. This action leads to increased urinary glucose excretion and a subsequent decrease in blood glucose levels. This process does not depend on insulin secretion or action.

• Metformin (500 mg): Classified as a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent, metformin works by reducing the production of glucose in your liver and decreasing the intestinal absorption of glucose. Moreover, it improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation. This action does not stimulate insulin secretion; therefore, it does not lead to hypoglycemia.
