Fycompa 6mg Tablet 14 is used for the following:

• Treatment of partial-onset seizures

• Management of secondarily generalised seizures

• Control of epilepsy in adults and adolescents

• Reduction of abnormal electrical activity in brain

• Stabilisation of overexcited nerve cells

• Suppression of epileptic episodes

• Prevention of seizure-related confusion and fear

• Regulation of glutamate activity in epilepsy

Follow these instructions while taking Fycompa 6mg Tablet 14:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• You can take this medicine with or without food, but be consistent.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly as advised by your doctor.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

• If you have any concerns about using this medicine, consult your doctor.

Fycompa 6mg Tablet 14 is taken orally.

Fycompa 6mg Tablet 14 contains Perampanel (6 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Blocks AMPA receptors: Perampanel specifically targets and blocks AMPA receptors, which are a type of glutamate receptor in the brain.

• Reduces glutamate signalling: By inhibiting these receptors, the medicine decreases the ability of glutamate (an excitatory neurotransmitter) to stimulate nerve cells in the brain.

• Decreases neuronal excitability: This blocking action helps reduce the overall excitability of brain cells, creating a stabilising effect on the electrical activity in the brain.

• Suppresses abnormal electrical discharges: By dampening excessive neuronal activity, perampanel helps prevent the abnormal electrical discharges responsible for triggering seizures.

• Store Fycompa 6mg Tablet 14 at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the tablets in their original container, tightly closed, to protect from light and moisture.

• Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use the tablets after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Maintain a regular sleep schedule with consistent bedtimes and wake times, as sleep deprivation can trigger seizures in people with epilepsy.

• Limit or avoid alcohol consumption, as it may increase the side effects of perampanel (the active ingredient in Fycompa 6mg Tablet 14) and potentially worsen seizure control.
