Zocon Tablet is used to treat fungal infections, especially vaginal yeast infection (vaginal thrush) and fungal skin infections. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing fluconazole 150mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called azole antifungals.
This medicine is also used, when prescribed, as a weekly dose to treat ringworm, athlete's foot and jock itch, and to help prevent repeated vaginal thrush. A single tablet is often enough for vaginal thrush, while other infections need doses spread over several weeks. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes.
Wearing loose cotton underwear, keeping the genital area and skin folds clean and dry, and not sharing towels can help prevent infections from returning. Keeping blood sugar well controlled helps if you have diabetes.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease or a heart rhythm problem, and about all other medicines you take, as fluconazole can affect many other medicines. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you notice yellowing of the skin or eyes, a severe or peeling rash, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or if symptoms do not improve. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
