CompositionUrifur SR 100 Tablet is used to treat and prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs), including bladder and kidney infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It is also used as a preventive measure against recurring UTIs.
It contains nitrofurantoin, an antibiotic, in a sustained-release form. Take it with food as prescribed. Complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better early, to make sure the infection is fully cleared.
Drinking plenty of water, urinating regularly and fully, and maintaining good personal hygiene all help support treatment and reduce the chance of further infections.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney problems, a history of lung disease, or are taking other medicines. This medicine may not be effective against certain bacteria such as Proteus or Pseudomonas species. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant, particularly near the end of pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
