Tretiva 40 Capsule 10 is used for the treatment of severe forms of acne, such as nodular acne, conglobate acne, or acne that carries a high risk of permanent scarring. It contains isotretinoin, part of the group of medicines known as retinoids.
This medicine is prescribed for adults and adolescents when acne has not responded adequately to other treatments, including antibiotics and topical anti-acne therapies. Treatment must always be supervised by a dermatologist due to its potent effects and potential risks.
This medicine causes severe birth defects if taken during pregnancy; women who can become pregnant must use effective contraception before, during, and for a period after treatment, and will usually need regular pregnancy tests as part of a pregnancy-prevention programme.
It is not intended for pubertal acne and should not be used in children below 12 years of age. The dose and duration of treatment are determined by your doctor based on body weight, severity of acne, and individual response. Report any unusual physical or emotional symptoms promptly during therapy.
