• TIGERAD INJECTION 1 is administered intravenously by a healthcare professional.

• The medicine is infused slowly over 30 to 60 minutes.

• Always ensure the solution is yellow to orange in colour and free from particulate matter.

• Do not mix this injection with other medications or infuse simultaneously through the same intravenous line.

TIGERAD INJECTION 1 contains one active ingredient, Tigecycline (50 mg). Its action on the body involves the following mechanism:

• Inhibition of Bacterial Protein Synthesis: Tigecycline works by binding to a part of the bacteria called the 30S ribosomal subunit. This prevents certain molecules from entering a key site in the ribosome during the protein production process. The ribosome is a part of the bacteria that makes proteins, which are crucial for the bacteria's growth and multiplication. By blocking this protein production, Tigecycline disrupts the growth of the bacteria, eventually helping to manage the infection.
