Teralfa 1 MG Tablet 10

Teralfa 1 MG Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure

• Controlling hypertension in adults

• Treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate)

• Improving urine flow in men with prostate enlargement

• Reducing urinary symptoms of BPH

• Decreasing difficulty in starting urination

• Relieving weak urine stream problems

• Helping with incomplete bladder emptying

• Reducing frequent urination due to prostate issues

• Decreasing nighttime urination caused by BPH

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day, preferably at bedtime.

• You can take it with or without food.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Avoid suddenly stopping this medicine without consulting your doctor.

• If you experience dizziness, sit or lie down until you feel better.

• Store the tablets in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Teralfa 1 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Teralfa 1 MG Tablet 10 contains terazosin (1 mg), which works on the body in the following ways:

• Alpha-1 Adrenergic Blockade: Terazosin selectively blocks alpha-1 receptors found in smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, prostate gland, and bladder neck, preventing these muscles from tightening.

• Blood Vessel Relaxation: By blocking alpha-1 receptors in blood vessels, terazosin causes the blood vessels to relax and widen (vasodilation), which reduces resistance to blood flow and lowers blood pressure.

• Prostate and Bladder Muscle Relaxation: In men with enlarged prostate, terazosin relaxes the muscles in the prostate gland and bladder neck, reducing pressure around the urethra and allowing urine to flow more freely.

• Store Teralfa 1 MG Tablet 10 at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the tablets in their original package, tightly closed.

• Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

• Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use Teralfa 1 MG Tablet 10 after the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Reduce salt intake in your diet to help manage high blood pressure (hypertension), as excess sodium can worsen blood pressure levels that Teralfa 1 MG Tablet 10 helps control.

• Limit alcohol consumption as it can interact with terazosin and increase your risk of dizziness and low blood pressure, potentially worsening the side effects of this medicine.
